22 Jan 2020
On the Costa Blanca you not only enjoy paradise beaches, there is also a gastronomy that stands out for its traditional and avant-garde effect.
The dishes that you should not miss are "el arroz a banda", characteristic of the coast of Alicante and the red shrimp of Denia that have an excellent taste. The island of Tabarca also has its star dish: "el caldero", which you can also try in coastal towns such as Santa Pola, Torrevieja, Alicante or La Vila Joiosa. Inland you will find rice with a typical taste for mountain villages such as "costra", a casserole with rabbit and snails or the stews with vegetables and meat. This proposal is supplemented by the famous broth with meatballs and gazpachos with meat or poultry.
One of the most remarkable products and a delight to the palate is the "turrón de Jijona", the star product at Christmas, ice creams that also help to cool down in the hottest season, filled cakes, fig bread or "coca boba".
The wines of the area, with a very varied designation of origin, also stand out. Red wines and sweet wines from the Monastrell grape are common.
Enjoying the rich and varied cuisine on the Costa Blanca is synonymous with a unique experience full of colors, flavors and textures that you will not soon forget.
