Discover the best beaches on the Costa Blanca!
20 Feb 2020
The Costa Blanca is known for many things, but certainly stands out for its large number of paradisiacal beaches. A walk, summer swimming in the sea, or a day at the beach with family or friends therefore fit perfectly into the schedule. We tell you what the best beaches are for a day full of enjoyment!
Playa del Postiguet
A clean sandy beach (awarded "the blue flag") with rental of beds and umbrellas. There is also the opportunity to play sports in an outdoor sports school or volleyball. This beach is adjacent to the old centre of Alicante and at the foot of Benacantil Mountain, with the famous Santa Bárbara Castle. The shoreline is 50 meters wide, if you walk to the end of the 900-meter-long promenade there is the Ibiza-style restaurant Xiringuito Postiguet where fun live music is played on weekends.
Urbanova
Urbanova beach is located between Alicante and Santa Pola. Urbanova (new urbanization) is a new housing estate and an important hotspot for all food lovers, as restaurant Moments is located there. North of Urbanova is a jagged beach with high waves, where there are many campers and dogs are allowed to run free. To the south is Playa El Altet which is a fine white sand beach with dunes.
Playa del Guardamar
Near the beautiful coastal town of Guardamar you have several beaches. In addition to Playa Centro, located directly on the town, you will find Playa Babilonia and Playa Vivers to the north. To the south are the beaches of Playa Moncayo and Playa Camp. A nice route to walk to the long sandy beach is through the Parc Alfonso XIII, then you will soon see the beautiful wooden bridges and stairs that will take you to your destination.
Playa Raco del Connil
At the bottom of the mountain with the beautiful viewpoint of Benidorm (from Torre d'Aguil) is the still unknown bay of Raco del Conill. It belongs to the municipality of the picturesque town of Villajoyosa where there is a pop-up chiringuito and a restaurant which is only open in summer. The left cove is reminiscent of the coastal town of Carmel in California with its wooden staircase and turquoise water, the right cove consists mostly of rocks.
Playa Cabo de las Huertas
This particular beach with mostly rocks in the strangest shapes is located between Alicante and San Juan. A beautiful beach for an exciting hike. Do wear your hiking boots, then you can also climb one of the many caves. The beach attracts Alicante's hip, alternative crowd and is also very popular with the LGTB community. If you want a family beach where you can also play lots of sports (volleyball, for example) then drive on to the wide sandy beach of San Juan. But the natural beauty of Cabo de las Huertas must be seen once!
Es Rebollo
The town of La Marina (municipality of Elche) has several beaches, together 5 kilometres long. To the north is Playa del Pinet with seaside beach houses and a small retro-style hotel. From there to the south, you will find the beach of the same name, La Marina (photo), where the restaurant Candela is located. Going more towards Guardamar you will find Es Rebollo and Playa de los Tusales, both are adjacent to a 4-kilometer-long pine forest.
Do you know them all? Which ones do you still need to visit? Don't miss them! See in the photo gallery the beaches we named in this blog.
